Hello to all the NEXUiZ supporters, players, and fans - and also importantly to the developers and moderators! It seems like we have a growing community here and I think the goal is for it to only progressivly grow even more so!

   Time is money, and Free Time is hopefully NEXUiZ. ;)

   I play all kinds of shooters; varying from Third Person shooters like Ghost Recon, Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto to First Person shooters such as Call of Duty, Rainbow Six and a few others. There is a very specific game missing from that list though, (actually two including NEXUiZ) a game that is one of my all time favorites, my first shooting game ever owned and a series I do miss.. Unreal Tournament.

   Wether you want to call it an Arena shooter, a Twitch shooter or whatever other terms there are, that is what I have been missing for so long, that genre, and it appears as if NEXUiZ is the answer. I've read reviews, watched videos, searched forums and decided I wanted to make my intro at the source.

   I have not yet purchased (or even played) NEXUiZ. I downloaded the Trial Version for Xbox yesterday and when I went to do a quickmatch it was myself and 3 other players and just never started.. :/ I waited about ten minutes only to just back out. With that being said I assume and HOPE that that only happened because I had the Trial Version and only "Trial Version players" can play together whereas the Full Version is crawling with players, right? ;)

   With that all being said I'm going to buy the game anyway, (today) you guys are getting my full support! And to whoever is reading this who doesn't own the game and is thinking.. "well I don't want to waste $10 bucks or I don't have enough money" get over it. I have debt, I don't have a ton of money, that's life. But I have faith in NEXUiZ and I'm going to support it, play the hell out of it, have fun, and hopefully bring some more players on board and so on; to turn NEXUiZ into a living breathing ORGANiZM.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Future Plans? :: Now that all that is out of the way, here are my questions about Future Plans (even though I havn't even played yet).
1:: Will we be seeing new maps in the near future? Are there any currently in development?
2:: Any new character skins coming soon? Any in development?
3:: Do you guys have plans for new Gametypes; such as Deathmatch/Free For All? (or anything else?)
4:: Will we ever see an increase of the max player count? 10 player games? 12, 14, 16? (bigger maps?)
5:: How often do you plan on making updates to fix bug issues? (or just as the com up?)
...and any more mutators? there isn't enough.. j/k ;)
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

   Well i can't think of anything else at the moment, but I hope to hear back soon! If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.. Posted Image  (you guys hiring?) Posted Image lol.

   I have some friends on the sidelines waiting for my "opinion" after I play the game; I'm sure I will convince them to give in one way or another. Posted Image

Sincerely, Zane Meck

Hi there Zane,

Must admit, it's great to see you have such enthusiasm for this game. I agree completely myself that the "twitch" shooter genre has been very lacking lately. Nexuiz really does seem to fill that gap in my honest opinion.
I must apologise for the fact that you had such a bad experience trying to find a game on the Xbox version. Personally, i don't own an Xbox, so i can't vouch for how different the player-base is on there... however, i have been around since the early beta on PC.

The game is definitely showing promise, the community is growing and thriving. games are very easy to find at about any time of day, and there are many things which have been improved upon. Even though it's still in beta, the game is showing much promise, and there are many features which have been added. Including features directly requested by the community in feedback. And thanks to this forum, and the IRC channel, there is a great deal of direct communication between us and the developers. Thanks to this, I *may* be able to answer your questions Posted Image

1:: I know for a fact that there is at least one new map in development. In fact, there is an area on this forum where users can give feedback on what they'd like to see in a map designed by the developers, for the community. There are many options there. I am sure more maps will be in development. And, although it's not officially included yet, a user map-creator is in the works, which will allow community-made maps, hopefully, soon!

2::I am not sure about character skins at all actually. I think that may be something for you to ask the developers! In fact, they regularly read this forum for feedback. perhaps they'll answer here Posted Image

3::In the case of other game types, I'm not sure anything is specifically planned, once again this is a question for the developers directly. However, i know that, when dedicated servers become available (very soon!) that custom servers will be available, allowing for specific player counts, specific always-on mutators (such as instagib) and other things.

4::I'm not sure about the player count to be honest. As the maps are, they feel just right with 4v4 in my honest opinion.

5::Bug fixes are made very regularly. For as long as I've been in this beta, I'm sure there's been at least one patch every week, fixing a great deal of bugs every time. All bugs are reported using this forum, and are directly passed on to the developers, if the developers have not read them themselves here first! So new bugs are found and fixed.

If you still want to play on the Xbox, fear not, as i hear most of the features added for the PC version may be being ported back to the Xbox version after release.

::keep in mind, i am not a developer. Any answers i give here i try to ensure are correct but may require correction::

If you'd like to join in the beta, i think each pre-order allows you access to the beta on steam. It'd be great to see you in game, if you decided to join us Posted Image

Either way, on behalf of all of us, welcome to the Nexuiz community Posted Image

Sounds great! And thank you for the fast reply. (I was wondering if this was all posted on the appropriate forums or not)
I will say most of these questions were geared toward the Xbox 360 version of NEXUiZ; I understand there are many differences in updating and expanding on a Console vs PC. I'm getting NEXUiZ for Xbox and am really hoping for it to be maintained for Xbox and hope there will be a vast community to bloom on the 360. I worry that after a little while it may suffer on the console and possibly become neglected due to issues and costs to only truly thrive for the PC. (which isn't entirely a bad thing - I just enjoy playing on a console sometimes).

Anyhow, thanks for the reply!

I kind of agree myself :) i will probably end up playing both on the PC and, when it's released there, the PS3. So i hope all of the different platforms' communities blossom. :)
And no problem at all :)
