Why not use "Trusted Partners" Server providers

Ranked systems only prove to stagnate games and hinder them from evolving. The best games will often have community contributions adding to its longevity because it isn't restricted to a locked down "trusted partners" ranked lockbox.
F*ck in-game stats, it's annoying and hasn't tracked properly yet. If you want people to know you are good then get a youtube channel and post your frag vids to prove it, your kdr and other ratios, i find, people will not care about (i thought differently before) because fps leaderboards are full of stat padders.

it's not being pussy footed around. there just isn't any need to allow players to host dedicated ranked servers right now.
HOWEVER it is on our todo list.
we're going to be hosting as many as needed dedicated servers for ranked matches. We will continuously scale them based on player load.
Thank you for the direct answer, I appreciate it. And you mentioned 'as many as needed', is this just for those in America, or will countries like Australia be seeing a few as well?

Just curious, wouldn't an unranked server operate under less restrictions and be more customizable? How is that worse for a clan who is "waiting to play" if they have the option to host or rent an unranked server before a ranked one. I have always believed "ranked" to be a pretty bad swindle for gamers. An unranked game can be played on the exact same maps, under the exact same rules and with the exact same setups. Ranked is just stats for the most part, find the protocol Nexuiz uses and make a program that gives local stats for your server and comunity (my cland did that twice for games, found protocol and we made a stats database for our server and a robust admin tool). Ranked and Unranked are not two separate games, they are meaningless conditions within the same game and as a gaming community we should fight more for the abolition of "ranked" bs and server setup restrictions.

Its simple, on some occasions, (this being one of them) as few as they are, earning achievements and unlocks, and working with a tight team of friends can be a lot more fun than just an average casual match with some funky settings with a group of strangers. The limitation is good as it draws a specific kind of crowd, the crowd that wants to play the core game that makes the game what it is. And if people want to improve themselves and get into the spirit of a deathmatch, who are you to stop them and discredit their definition of fun?
It's just an aspect of what a prominent shooter has to offer which you personally disregard, and that's fine. But you have to realize that this game not only caters to you, but a crowd of people, some who are different from you. Some of us enjoy an intense round of ctf on vigor for that last capture working very closely together to ensure our victory. Others enjoy playing mods, getting into new maps, making their own, sharing out that skin they have made for their favourite weapon. Hell, there are even those rare sorts, who have a fetish for collecting the most glorious and prestigious gentleman's hats they can find, and wear them all at once to boast how much better they are than everyone else in existence, regardless of the fact that their brittle hands can barely hold a gun. All of that is fine! They are all the elements that allow a game to offer something engaging and fun!
Back to my point, fighting for the abolishment for games like COD, that I can get behind, but ranked gameplay? Nonononono, the solution is to invest more effort into figuring out how a game can be entertaining, and to heed the needs of the community you serve so that you may please your fanbase and keep a great thing alive and well, not eliminating an aspect of the game that you do not personally understand. As in, invest your time into developing more content, not less.

@Brokeworks.. you babble too much. At the moment we can't even rent a non ranked dedi server. Non ranked servers have never attracted much interest while there were ranked servers. But I do agree on one point... why even have ranked servers? Just let them all be unranked and release the dedi files so we can move on.
Finally, something I agree with.

He's simply voicing his opinion and concerns. If it makes you feel better to call that trolling because he strikes a nerve, then that's your hang-up.I think Geronimo is just here to troll the Nexuiz community.
Maybe he's one of the old Nexuiz fans that's bitter about the Nexuiz-Xonotic thing?

It's not the voicing of complaints or concerns that bother me, it's the blatantly ignoring the developers and constantly reposting the same core set of issues that we've all heard from 300 other people while pissing all over everyone else that bothers to reply.
Crap like this:
Makes me think he's just here to troll.Still a babbler I see

Yeap, and we haven't gotten anywhere. 300 people making the same complaints and no progress. If you review this thread and read all the posts, you will see that the only troll here is you.You contribute nothing. I guess time will tell who was making sense here. So far, it only shows you don't have a clue. It's not the voicing of complaints or concerns that bother me, it's the blatantly ignoring the developers and constantly reposting the same core set of issues that we've all heard from 300 other people while pissing all over everyone else that bothers to reply.

You're still an idiot and a troll. Read the entire thread and you will see that I made the posts and waiting for them. If you would get your nose out of the devs asses you would see that.Complaining about the same issues that the developers are aware of and currently fixing contributes nothing. They know. They're working on it. This shit isn't magic. Not sure why that's a hard concept to understand.
To anyone else, I still have additional copies of the game if anyone knows someone who really needs it.

During the beta we bought and gave away 12 games to promote the game. After PMs with Kedhrin about our server provider (NFO Servers) interested in renting servers, he said the dedis would be ready any day now and would be in the beta. We then bought 20 more games and gave most of those out as well. I understand that there were set backs. We were then told we wouldn't be able to host Ranked Dedis. We swallowed that pill. Now they have put out "Official Dedicated" servers but they still won't even allow the public to host their own (unranked Dedis) although they are obviously available.
Now come the troll (you) and says "Complaining about the same issues that the developers are aware of and currently fixing contributes nothing. They know. They're working on it. This shit isn't magic. Not sure why that's a hard concept to understand."
What are they aware of? That the dedis are out and they still don't allow us to host them? That this game is dieing because they produced a game that should still be in Beta? What are they fixing that keeps the public from hosting (custom) servers? The same things they are fixing now, they can still fix with the public hosting the game. They may even get more feedback from more people playing the game. We want to play on our custom servers because there are no ranked servers. At least our community will produce more players then are currently playing now.
I'm bitching because I bought the games and I have the right to complain. We have been told a lot and none has happened. This game has less players and it's not growing. If you don't see the real "dead horse" here, you're just a blind fool.
You're the only one beating the dead horse. You're the troll that is contributing nothing here. If we want more of what you say, we'll just listen to the devs.

And if I'm the troll, why are you the one always calling people idiots, spamming up the forums with the same complaint, and generally being an ass to anyone who doesn't pat you on the back and give you a lolipop? Why are you the one being doom and gloom while people are hard at work fixing the issues you're whining about? It's certainly not helping. Howabout providing some other feedback for a change? Find other issues to fix and add to the list instead of whining about the same one over and over?
