You expect the devs to bad mouth the publisher who they are under contract with? If you are going to blame someone place blame where blame is due: Crytek should have had dedicated server coding already built in to the engine..

Why throw in the towel? We know dedicated servers will be fixed. How many current AAA full price games have been released with massive bugs or no dedicated server support at all?

Crytek has made Nexuiz development a pain in the rear end. They're demo recording features sucks, their spectating features sucks, their dedicated server code sucks...the list goes on. The fact that the dev team hasn't utterly given up on the crap coding of the Crytek CryENGINE 3 is pretty good, considering.

Isn't Crysis2 a CryEngine3? It has dedicated servers

Have any of you considered it was a horrible idea to build and ARENA shooter on CryEngine in the first place? Why didn't they stick with good ol' Unreal Engine? Besides it's WAY cheaper to licence.

Cryengine is nice, but not suited to this kind of game.

I've said this was going to happen. Hate to see it did. I know I harped on these forums till I was blue the face about us not being able to host our own dedicated servers. We bought and gave out over 30 copies to promote the game. Over and over we told we would be hosting our servers soon but they wouldn't be ranked. We swallowed that pill even though we didn't like it. We waited for the dedis and hosted many p2p servers for people to have a place to play. we waited until we just gave up.
everytime I complained about this problem, I heard it from all the brown nosers that I was a troll and was here for other reason. So here we are. Right where we were last time I was on these forums. Nothing's changed and holding back anything from these loyal/dedicated people who have stuck with this game since the beta isn't going to make things any better. And telling people not to make these kinds of post is bad for the game is only covering up the BS that's going on here. We were lied to then and we're still being lied to now.
They should have treated these 1,000 plus people that bought this game with a little more respect than this pissing down our leg and telling us it's raining crap.
What did it for me was being bullsh!tted about the dedicated servers. Our community could have contributed a lot to this game and we had a lot to offer. I was on the live chat many times and really thought the devs were nice folks, but I also noticed them dancing around the important questions all the time. This is when I knew we were being taken for a ride.
As far as the publisher pushing the game out: I never heard anyone from the developer team say that. They never said, "hey guys, we had to push this game out. The publisher made us do it". Whatever the case may be, we threw in the towel.

The last time you were on these forums was about two days ago.
What a shock that things haven't significantly changed in two days time.

And, they built it on Cryengine to make it feel unique.

@ Mouse, I see you're still sucking butt. I'm so glad you're still here. You make it feel so unique. You were so right all the time. Everything you said happened just like you said. The dedis were rolled out and the game is doing so good now. I can't believe I doubted you. Wow, I was so wrong about all those things. enjoy the game little rat

Looks like you're still trying to get attention by insulting people for not kissing your ass.

Talk less, play more. I want to see you both in game right now or else you're just feeding what you negatively say about the game.

Mouse, don't let him bait you. Even you have to know that all he's doing is baiting you.

As for you, Geronimo, I have to begrudgingly agree with you (despite your... questionable attitude towards Mouse). I should have seen this coming around the third time I had to wait thirty minutes to start a single match back in the beta. Very unfortunate...

I want to express my disappointment about how empty the game is as well. I've been waiting months for this game and like others have said, it's practically DOA. Very sad.

What's up, IllFonic? I'd love to see some response from the devs on this issue.

Last time I heard, they're going for a sort of do-over. Fix everything up, and then do a large advertising push to get the game out there.

Illfonic is too busy fixing issues and bugs to come in here and bother. If you keep bugging them about stuff they already know, heaven forbid Nexuiz will take longer to shape up. Just saying guys...

Yeah I agree.
While I do like CryEngine, its not the best engine to run this game on. Especially if you want it to be competative.
However no point ranting about how good/bad the engine is. It wont change anything. I just think all this negativity is not really encouraging them. I really do wish them the best of luck.

They probably think we are all annoying as hell. Not just the naysayers, but everyone with their bickering and video game politics. Just imagine how freaking annoying it would be to go into work every day and have people constantly arguing over you work performance. I'd want to strangle everyone.

I love video games and I'd love to design one, but I think the politics would kill my passion for the hobby.

Haha yeah you have a good point. Let's just hope no more people come in here and drop in the same criticisms -- the problem has already been addressed, fretting over it any more would just be more annoying.
