Hello Folks,

Based upon player feedback we have decided to postpone the Machinima Nexuiz PC Tournament until August when we have more features and improvements in the game.

We will announce the exact date very soon.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

This is a repost so that people notice it:

Please put it in the first week of August. You're going to lose a LOT of players because of the following reasons:

1) You have students who have exams in the end of August
2) A good number of people in the population of N.A go on vacation in the last week of August
3) Everybody will be too busy playing the new games that will be coming out and will be giving 0 fucks for Nexuiz (no offense)

I for one think a 2 month extension is a bad idea, and the fact that Icons Gaming and Machinima postponed the tournament 2 days (less than that) prior to the tournament is extremely rude and inconvenient (based off several players that I have talked to).

If you want my advice, have qualifiers on August 4/5th and finals on August 11th. Better yet, qualifiers July 28/29th and then finals August 4th.

I just spent the last 20 minutes trying to get a support ticket, but...

THEIR FUCKING WEBSITE IS A PIECE OF SHIT. I AM SICK OF THIS.

It's not keeping me signed in, I can't fucking do fuck all on their horribly made website. I am sick of not getting any fucking feedback by ANYBODY on this team (Icons or Machinima) and I wanted to send the following fucking message, but I CAN'T BECAUSE THEIR WEBSITE IS HORRID:

Please heed my warning and take this into serious consideration. Thus far I have been ignored by the messages that I have sent out, your organizational skills surrounding this tournament are blatantly low (you never even posted the game-specific rules), your tournament page is very confusing when it comes to restrictions, and your website is horrible when it comes to logging users into the ssytem (I am constantly having to relog back in to my account when I go to another page -- this is beyond frustating, I waste countless hours trying to get this ticket sent to you). I am merely expressing the concerns of numerous players who have already signed up for this tournament, and will gladly continue to email.

I am seriously sick of this horrible garbage shit. Way back when they had only 6 teams signed up, I sent them an email asking them for information and they didn't get back to me. They are horribly fucking organized and I can't stand it anymore.

Please, if anyone else is feeling this kind of rage towards this tournament, please set up a support ticket on iconsgaming.com and send out a request like the one I have above listing reasons as to why they should not have this tournament so late in the summer. I managed to FINALLY get my ticket set up.

Would you like me to send in a support ticket with your exact post to show you are not the only one? As it stands this will conflict with my first week of college.

I can represent only myself with the following statements, but I would not be susprised to find that I am the only one with such dissapointment and growing disdain towards this project. I am sort of conflicted between what I am feeling and what I think I should be feeling. In its current state, the game is definitely in no condition to be played "seriously" or competatively; it's simply unplayable. However, does that mean that it should be pushed so far back and to such an inopportune time (considering class schedules and even final exams)?

I have but only a couple dozen hours of my time invested into this game, but the more I invest, the more I can see how flawed it is--flawed beyond just the code, but also the way it seems to be operating in terms of priorities. I come from "Classic Nexuiz" and so have been following this from day one, and from then until this point, it just seems that Illfonic is more concerned with PR (public relations). Seemingly, more effort went into advertising and publicity than did bug fixes. I'm really hoping that isn't the case and that all this is but groundless ranting.

My understanding is that this is Illfonic's first big project. If that is true, then perhaps all this is udnerstandable and maybe even permissible. I've played just about every major open source, community-driven online FPS project there can be mentioned, and even in some of those games' alpha or beta stages, were not nearly as buggy as this game. I mean, it's kind of really bad when you're even afraid to go to main menu for fear of your client crashing. It especially does not help to think that money was paid for that type of experience.

Again, hope I'm wrong, hope you Illfonic-inians wind up making me look like a rambling troll, and hope all the best for your project.

Thanks ofmic3. We have to spread the word and get this tournament rolling properly.
