This mean there is the DLC available as well as a lot of other FREE additions to everyone else in the patch
I'd assume there will be purchasable DLC and a seperate free patch released. Of course i could be reading too deep into it and it could all be free but i'm a bit skeptical about this.

I'll tell you whats really cool though I get my new EVGA Geforce 670 4gb FTW+ on monday and i just got my 120hz monitor so i'll be able to enjoy some higher settings just in time for all the new content and fixes.
Great choice of GPU! If the DLC does cost I can only assume they plan to fix the majority of issues alongside it - let's hope this is the revival nexuiz needs!

Yeah i compared it to the 680 and came to the conclusion that there's not much of a major difference between the two and it's more affordable ($200 more affordable than it's 680 counterpart). Whether i'll see a game in the next 3 or 4 years that'll use all 4gb's of ram who knows, but $490 seemed like a pretty good deal for what it was. I just hope with all the rest of the parts i've thrown into my pc during the last few months (signature), I'll be able to crank up the settings on a few of the games this 295 can barely handle.
Witcher 2
BF3
Nexuiz on anything above low
etc.
You have a great processor also so you will be able to play all those with ease. In terms of a next step I would go with 8GB ram (maybe more?), I found games like battlefield really benefit from it.

I'm sure this DLC will be free. The "A lot of other free additions" would relate the free to the DLC. If not, it's poor english.
This milestone is called the Duel DLC ‘Patch’.
This mean there is the DLC available as well as a lot of other FREE additions to everyone else in the patch.
...
The Duel ‘Patch’ comes with numerous fixes, additions, and highlights other changes in Nexuiz since launch. No additional purchase is required for you to get these.

"I'm trying to see if we can give a discount on the DLC for the first few days. The DLC is $5. As Tonez posted I'm planning a pretty big marketing push through some major competitive sites / gamescom presence. It's not 'Tribes' scale marketing, but it I think it can get some people in. In order for us to get marketing funds, we need something to sell the game more (DLC)."
