Is there an RCON implementation/protocol available in the dedicated server? And if so is there any documentation available on the protocol?

To answer your question YES cryengine does support this method of sending console commands, however we have not had much time to properly iron it out for any issues. stay tuned for future announcements about the subject.

The cryengine MAY support it but as far as us supporting it's highly unlikely, what i mean by that is i have not received or heard mention of this subject and nexuiz.

Hm. This is such a good question! ;)

So let's try to configure an online FPS game without the ability to configure it. I hope these essential things come asap because they are needed to make the game successful.

Rcon is implemented, but you have to initiate the RCON on the server first.


rcon_startserver port:28001 pass:yourpasswordgoeshere

Then connect to it by putting this in the console on your client:

rcon_connect addr:yourserverip port:28001 pass:yourpasswordgoeshere

You can 'kick' people with the 'ban' command:

ban playernamegoeshere

Now, the ban should ban them for 30 mins, but doesn't, it just kicks.

Kick does nothing at all.

And the RCON gives no feedback to the client on connection or any successful commands sent. This needs addressing.

(Not convinced the ban actually kicks the intended target all the time as well, so I don't use it for fear of booting out innocent by-standers!)
