I loved the UT series and I've tried nexuiz offline, which I think is a great game, and i love how it's really fast paced yet with more dynamic movement with a lot more depth and a bit of interactivity to the maps (like how the character will climb the last bit if you only just don't make the jump). I really like being able to accidentally miss a jump and just direct my fall to land somewhere else, and the mutators are a pretty good idea without having a major impact on gameplay or making one side too overpowered
But the main thing I liked about the UT series, is the hundreds of maps to play and hundreds of online players, with thousands of different modifications which would make certain servers unique, and I've heard nexuiz has none of these. I suppose it's sort of a vicious cycle, but once it gets more players and maps I'm willing to buy it, and I'm sure lots of other people will, I was just wondering is there any news about a new big release, or if community created content is popular and regularly played?
The majority of the maps are really well designed, I just feel like it needs a few dozen different ones with different game modes to get the best out of the game
Sorry if some bits sound a bit weird, I've had a couple to drink lol, but I've been 50/50 since i first saw it as to weather or not I should buy it, with the downside that it's got an awfully small fan base and I'd probably never get to play online. Also a proper release for the same price, but with a physical copy, would be awesome, because the art style is actually pretty epic, and its nice having a game which has graphics that my computer can't run properly
edit: up to 32 player maps would be totally epic too, 4v4 kinda sucks
