What are your opinions as game developers on this?

I think its great! It shows that consumers are still very much into consoles and supporting something new in gaming. I feel if the console really takes off we could see a lot of new developers in gaming. The only issue I see with it is as things start moving into the "Next-Gen" gaming space it could get left behind. If its easy to make "Next-Gen" games and scale the game down to this platform with graphics still looking decent it could do very well. Right now it seems like the console is really just a way to play Android games on your TV. That can change with exclusives and developers that target its platform for development. There was a good take by American McGee on Ouya recently. He basically is just saying why would people buy this when they could get a tablet that is similiar in specs that could stream to TV's along with being able to take it outside. A lot more tablets are supporting USB and can use controllers with them as well. He has a great point but really its going to come down to the games that are specifically developed for it and the development community built around it.

I think its exciting times for gaming right now. So much about video games future is up in the air. Regardless we are going to see some amazing products in the very near future.
