I think I speak on behalf of whatever community this game might have left when I say that it is only fair for illfonic to point out whether or not the Machnima Nexuiz PC Tournament is actually going to happen. It would be a shameful thing to allow the people who are willing to practice this terrible, frustrating, dead game just for you guys to cancel the tournament two days before it happens (like you did before, pushing it two more months two days before it was going to start). If you could please just spare us our time and aggravation and tell us whether or not this tournament is actually going to happen, it would be much appreciated. It's already bad enough just recognizing the state this game is currently in.

You took the words right from out of my fingertips. In all seriousness, though, it really is tormenting and paranoia-inspiring to have to had endured playing such a flawed pile of code only to have doubt that there's any incentive or point.

I, too, would appreciate the courtesy of reassurance or just closure at this point.

Just from my perspective as a part of any remaining community, I honestly think it is a case of whatever happens happens. I.e working towards refining this game and in turn, getting a player-base would be priority number one. Without those things, a tournament would be very improbable, and it would be of no sense to prioritize the tournament in general before the more major issues. If the former is not resolved, there will most likely not be a tournament, and that isn't about to change at the hands of rude posters, buggy or not. I say if you care about it, be patient.

That would be a valid statement were there not already a duel tournament. Not only that, but the reason(s) for the postponing of this current tournament is obscured: is it lack of player interest or just for the fact that it has been virtually unplayable? Patience can only go so far, particularly if there is something to be patient for.

I was not aware that there is an active duel tournament, and considering the time that the tournament was postponed, I would say both reasons were valid, It would be good if Tonez could come in here and respond to these questions.

Well then I sincerely apologize. Clearly this game's status has got you hot headed and sarcastic. I'm sorry to hear.

Hey guys,

I'm the co-owner and developer of the site this tournament is hosted on. First of all, I'd like to apologize for the disorganization of this event. We're pretty embarrassed about it, but we hope to make it up to you guys by providing excellent support throughout the event. We don't have a whole lot of input on the rules, dates, and general structure, but we'd still like to do what we can to get your input on a game that you guys know much better than we do. If you could take a look at the posted in-game rules and let us know what may be problematic and anti-competitive, we'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Bro!! Check out my ticket, I've posted up a few things regarding rules and some gameplay. If you need help looking through some rules and what not, check this out:

Refer to the rules page :)

I hope that most of the teams show up, but since the player base of Nexuiz is somewhat dead I have no way of predicting where we'll be.

It would be good to try to combine all the regions as Nexuiz is not terribly popular, and I know of at least 4-5 users not in the US that wanted to compete in this tournament.

What you might have to do, I know this would be somewhat game breaking but re-release all of the maps in tournament legal editions that cut out the fancy back drops and unnecessary polish that is boggling down performance for users that cannot run the Cry3 engine so well. Could help net connection a ton.

Wow dude butt hurt much? I don't think that you would see a decent game even when its slapping you in the face. Also do not speak for entire community There are a lot of people playing this game and are enjoying it just because you found it's hard doesn't mean that its bad. However i do notices couple of things.
OP is a kid that like's to play COD and other "realistic skill free games" or just simply a troll.
This game managed to bring back when FPS was actually fast, skillful, and reaction based. Also you cannot compare Nexuiz to other games simply because its completely different caliber.
Also the company cant cancel the tournament simply because of the arrangements they had to make.
