tip for survival while still getting as good a jump: use the electro instead of the grenade/rocket launcher to jump just point it at your feet

Electro and Grenade does not jump high as rocket. I test it exaustively.

yeah they don't jump as high, but you can still make a lot of those jumps with just electro. Like, jumping up to hagar and then up to Large Armor can be done with just electro, and I even think jumping from there to Nex can be done with Electro (though I'd have to go back and try this one to be sure, it's been a while since I've done that jump at all)
