I will be recreating some of my favorites from UT2k4. DM-DE-Ironic and DM-Goliath are first on my list. What are some maps others would like to see? *From any version of UT(99, 2k3, 2k4, UT3)..

Obviously these maps will not be exact replicas of the originals. Stealing textures and static meshes for use in a non Epic game would be against copyright laws. I plan to create my own models and textures or use stock Nexuiz assets to replace.

None for me because UT maps would require UT movement  wall dodging/jumpboots haha.
but some quake maps would be cool.

Sprinta would work very well on Nexuiz for CTF. No doubt it would be the best map in the game, even more so than Vigor.

UT maps are cool, but I can't think of one that would fit in Nexuiz. Now, Quake maps on the other hand....

folks this thread is about UT maps, not Quake. If you want Quake maps you can start another thread about that.

I am 100% positive UT maps will work in Nexuiz just as well as any Quake map with some minor tweaking to account for the slight differences in player movement between the games.

While I like the wall dodging movement mechanic, it wasn't present in 99 and to say that unreal maps like deck can't be played without it is a silly assumption.

Deck wouldn't be the same without boots/combos

I will probably play the game for a couple weeks before I spend time mapping.

I've never worked with CryEngine 3 so I'm unsure how I will be making maps with this engine. I have a few options on how I could port maps to CE3, once I find out exactly what we are getting in an Nexuiz SDK I will know more. It depends on what works better and more efficiently , 3dsmax or the SDK or even Unreal Engine 3 (UDK) for BSP based geometry editing.
