It's only $7 used for 360 and the game is pretty awesome! There are people online, and some people from these forums get together to have some fun as well. The netcode is surprisingly good, and it even allows for split screen guests online. It also has a story mode, if you are into that sort of thing, and bot matches for all the game modes.

So if you want large CTF matches with wicked vehicles, or just a competitive 1v1 duel, UT3 can definitely deliver. At $7, it's cheaper than most anything on XBLA. And you don't need an online pass to play, so there's no downside to buying it used. Here's a quick video review(but there are probably some much more in depth reviews out there):





Anyway, if anyone wants to play, I'm down for anything(preferable with no bots though).

Did you get it yet? I'm no fan of the UE3 or Gears style characters, but the game is ridiculously bad-ass.

sorry I disagree on the netcode. I think it is horrible compared to older UT games. With hit scan weapons it is most noticeable and is the #1 reason I quit playing UT3.

As for the looks of UT3 compared to Gears, yes Epic "grungified" UT3 Gears of War style. No other UT game shared this style and Gears 1 came out before UT3.

For a 360 title, it's great. Sure, UT99 and 2K4 had better net code, but they also were only on PC and usually you'd play on a dedicated server on those. UT3 360 has the dedi option and a few people will set them up, but it's primarily going to be someone hosting the match while playing. And the Host advantage that is seen in so many games is much less prevalent because the netcode handles things well.

Unless of course, you're referring to UC1/2 having better networking, in which case I can only assume you are delusional. And if you are still playing Nexuiz then you would be a huge hypocrite.

yeah I was referring to pc. Never played UC1/2 as I have never owned a console.

the lag is consistent so if u fancy learning to lead your shots adds another layer to the game and a sense of accomplishment. you get what ya put in. its not that difficult

Yeah, lag is definitely there but you can adjust to it after a few games. It becomes second nature after a while, with alot of regular peeps on there for CTF/Duel.

Wish we could rocket jump in UT though, hammer jumping takes too long

Yeah, there is no doubt some lag. I just think the game is more than playable with it, unlike many other games I've played on XBL. I wish I had a PC that could play UT3, that's my preferred platform for Arena FPS, and I've had UT3 for it since it came out. But, the 360 version is still a blast and totally worth every cent of $7.

Yeah of course, alot of us play it quite often. Usually fri/sat/sun is when most people are free and got some time to spare. I dont think I've ever played with you though, what gametype do you play? This is all assuming your GT is the same as your username

Am not talking about UT3 coming out before Gears but theres a reason why they look like UT characters and its def not the other way around. but if we go there have u seen the UC1/2 characters? but the real deal is that Gears of wars Character look more like UT characters not the other way around.

You dont need more than that johnny, 360 version theres no DLC or anything, maybe a patch i think. but u be fine.
