I know this is a team based game but certain maps play the 1v1 gametype well in my opinion.
To follow up with that I would LOVE to see this game incorporate a spectator mode similar to CoD. It will allow guys like me ;D to stream tournament and actually develop a competitive scene in a game that is already awesome and balanced.
Hopefully this is taken into consideration because it will be AMAZING if that is the case ;D

I know spectator mode is confirmed for the PC version, and I think they are working on it for the console too.

The competitive pc community requires "spectator mode" so announcers can do play by play. I've seen many games fade out because the developers are too lazy to give in to the demands of the competitive community. Developers should also make some small 1v1 duel maps. illfonic should do some tournament promotion on twitch.tv for more word of mouth.

It's the same way on console too. CoD succeeds competitively (just barely) because of it's amazing spectator mode while Halo suffers due to it's lack of having one. If you're an FPS game with a MP system I think spectator mode should be requirement lol.

I don't think the AA is that big of a deal. The best players will still find a way to win and remember it's not about alienating the audience that wants to get involved and potentially compete in the game. I know people will disagree with that but having been apart of multiple communities that died because people wanted to create more "competitiveness" in the game has changed my perspective on how things should be approached.
I could create operate and shoutcast a tournament with CSN for this game tomorrow but we need the spectator mode. Hopefully Illfonic views that as free promotion and thus views this as a priority.
