Well, maping is not a easy task, you need good skill with 3D modelling programs (like Maya and 3DMax), good texturing and image editing skills (with photoshop or/and any other graphical editing program) and a good sense of ambient space and art. However, the feeling of getting something you designed turned into lots of fun for a world-wide public is something unimaginable.
For those who wishes to start learning and maping for CryTek 3 games (Nexuiz or any other) here are the official resources for documentation and softwares.

I want to map with CryTek 3, where do I start?
01 March 2012 - 12:37 PM
Nexuiz 3D option
01 March 2012 - 12:11 PM
I know that's not the right time to request this (since the problems and fixes they are probably doing) but, Crysis 2 uses CryTek 2 and have active 3D support. I think 3D is a native feature for the CryTek 3 so maybe it not hard to implement it on Nexuiz. I have a 3D TV and few games on Xbox to use this function...
Weapons Info and Tactics
29 February 2012 - 07:35 PM
Here a list of infos about all the weapons in the game, taken directly from the in-game manual:
(tips maden by me)
Shotgun
Primary:
Type: Cluster of bullets over a wide spread
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: Low
Ammo: Infinity
Secondary:
Type: Cluster of bullets focused in the center
Refire Rate: Slow
Damage Per Bullet: Low
Ammo: Infinity
Tips: Don't underestimate this weapon. Besides it being the initial weapon, in the right hands it can be a powerful choice. Use the primary fire to take out targets at close quarters, aim for the body to maximize the damage. Use the secondary fire for take out enemies at a medium quarter.
Crylink
Primary:
Type: Cluster of bouncing energy cells over a wide spread
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Secondary:
Type: Cluster of bouncing energy cells over a even wider spread
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Tips: Not the best choice for a direct confront, the Crylink is very useful to take out enemies from a corner, aim for the wall and let it bounce directly in to the enemy (also avoiding direct damage from the enemy weapon). The secondary fire is best used in open spaces (to increase the chance of hit) and in group of enemies. Crylink is also a good weapon to give supression fire.
Electro
Primary:
Type: Slow projectile of explosive energy cell
Refire Rate: Low
Damage Per Bullet: High
Ammo: High Cell Cost
Secondary:
Type: Ball of bouncing energy that sticks to targets
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Tips: A powerful weapon for almost every situation. Use the primary fire to take out enemies in direct combat. Use the secondary fire as a grenade laucher, throwing bullets in corners and hallways to maximize the damage.
Nex
Primary:
Type: Instant rail shot of cell energy
Refire Rate: Very Low
Damage Per Bullet: Very High
Ammo: Very High Cell Cost
Secondary:
Type: Scope
Tips: Classic Sniper Rifle, aim for the head to one-shot kills. In a fast paced game like Nexuiz, a successful sniper won't stand idle. Basic tatic is to find a high spot, for every enemy you take down you change your sniper place. For accurate players this weapon also servers to engage enemies in medium range combat.
ClanCutter
Primary:
Type: Fast bullets of cell energy
Refire Rate: Very Fast
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Secondary:
Type: Cluster of cell energy bullets
Refire Rate: Slow
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Tips: That's a very fast and accurate weapon. Use it for any combat range. For medium/long range use the primary fire (don't hesitate to use this weapon to take down sniper enemies). In close quartes, use the secondary fire as it concentrate a burst of energy in a single shot, and from close to enemy you have less chance to miss it.
Hagar
Primary:
Type: Fast Rockets
Refire Rate: Fast
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Secondary:
Type: Fast rockets that bounces
Refire Rate: Fast
Damage Per Bullet: Medium
Ammo: Medium Cell Cost
Tips: A good tactic with this weapon is to aim for the ground next to the enemy instead of aiming in the enemy itself, this way in inflict a good amount of damage and also maximazes the chance of hit. Secondary fire is very useful in hallways and corners. Watch out for friendly fire and self inflicted damage when using this weapon.
Mortar
Primary:
Type: Arc Firing Rocket (grenade launcher)
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: High
Ammo: High munitions cost
Secondary:
Type: Delayed arc firing rockets that bounces
Refire Rate: Medium
Damage Per Bullet: High
Ammo: High munitions cost
Tips: One of the favorites for almost any player, mortars are letal in skilled hands. From medium range, aim for the ground instead of the enemy itself. Try to calculate the trajectory of both the rocket and the enemy, aiming ahead of the enemies. Use secondary fire to take out enemies in the corner or in covers. Watch out for friendly fire and self inflicted damage when using this weapon.
Rocket Launcher
Primary:
Type: Remote controlled Rocket
Refire Rate: Slow
Damage Per Bullet: Very High
Ammo: Very High munitions cost
Secondary:
Type: Detonate rockets
Tips: The king of all weapons, the rocket laucher reigns supreme in the arena. Timing is the key word for this weapon. Like with the Mortars, try to aim ahead of the enemy. Aim both for the ground or the enemy itself, if the rocket misses the enemy use the secondary fire to detonate it in the air and inflict some damage to enemies. Beware to not take yourself or team members within the explosion radius.
Ravager
Primary:
Type: Low accuracy machine gun
Refire Rate: Very Fast
Damage Per Bullet: Low
Ammo: Low munitions cost
Secondary:
Type: Acurrate fire
Refire Rate: Slow
Damage Per Bullet: Low
Ammo: Low munitions cost
Tips: Basic machine gun, can make some damage if used correctly. Do not engage directly the enemy with this weapon cause it lack enough punch to confront other weapons like the Shotgun and Electro. Like the Hagar and the ClanCutter, this weapon can be a smart choice to inaccurate players (due to its high firing cadence).

Weapons of choice?
29 February 2012 - 11:54 AM
So, anyone here got a feeling about the weapons? A favorited one or something like that?
I found myself getting much more scores with the Rocket Launcher (ahh, UT99 - these was great times) and the pistol with explosive rounds (I forgot the name of it)

Play with the developer

Is there any date/idea of making a community "play with developer" match(s)?
I already got the KillFonic achievement (by kiling someone with the gamertag skumdogg) and was curious if that player was a developer or someone with the achievement. Also, developer tips on how to play better are always useful.
