Hey guys,

we are aware of the problem with the Rocket Launcher and are trying to figure out what is causing it.

In the mean time, we are doing a quick test to see if we can get it at a non-OP level.

The RL Damage was at 70 with a 1.0 Headshot Multiplier, so you shouldn't be getting one shot kills on freshly spawned players (but you are).

To quickly test this, we have put the damage to 45 to see if this helps.

I'd love to hear from you guys if this helps relieve the situation. I would get on there now and help play with some of you but i'm swamped with other things on the project and won't be able to play tonight. So any of you playing today please let me know and we can make adjustments to try to get it to a non-OP state until we can fix this bug.

Thanks!

Oh no! Kedhrin I'm going to be such a BK now Posted Image

Posted Image I'll let you know how it plays! Posted Image

NOTE: Rockets are only really troublesome when combined with a good host and a skilled player. I'm already predicting this is overkill but we shall see. Thank you for your continued concern!

Yeah the host advantage is a huge issue with RL controls, we did massive optimizations to the network so it should hopefully make it a lot better when the patch hits.

There will always be an issue of host advantage, however, its definitely ironed out and on more severe issues we'll try to make some things to even them out so the host experiences the same as other players.

Shit just got real! Mortar may need splash damage nerf now to balance. Nex nerf is perfect, although I'd like to see it raised 5 dmg to 90. Now teleport + weapon wheel fix = perfect game.

Mortar splash damage nerf is definitely needed.

Mortar is fine. Splash damage isn't even that big.

Lol host mortar>

Mortar should definitely not be the strongest weapon in the game. Nex should be strongest.
this game with AA off will be extremely skilled.

Kedhrin, I'm comtemplating of making a new thread to report this gamebreaking bug, but I'm hoping that if I post it here, you'll be able to see it quicker.

Player1 has full health + full shield(half+ shield will work as well). Player2 shoots Player1 in the head with a rocket. Player1's gun disapears, sound is muffled, can't switch weapons, he is unable to jump, can't shoot, and cannot pickup any items/weps on the map. After the headshot, the HUD indicates that Player1 has 0 health but 50% shield remaining. To restore full fuctionaility of Player1, Player2 must shoot him until the remaining amount of shield is fully depleted. Once the shield is fully depleted, Player1's health is immediately restored and everything returns to normal.

Generally we appreciate it if you post bugs in the bugs forum as we got a guy (Tonez) who is there collecting the bugs from you guys, but we'll look into it. It may already be fixed in the update though.

Rockets feel great. I was on host but I didn't feel like they were insane.

Feels like you were able to find the right damage while not nerfing the homing or alt fire. Goodjob.

Mortar is fine. They are only good short range, and it takes a fair amount of skill to arc them at any intermediate distance or longer. It takes like 5 or 6 to kill fully stacked players and it feels like the splash radius is small enough to be skillful but not too large to be noobish. Electro is just as good when used properly IMHO. Just have to aim at the ground. Plus the Electro has a crazy fast travel time.

I'm gonna have to hop online and try these rockets out. I have thought they were OP for a while. I hope mortars don't get nerfed though, they are already kinda crap with the trajectory fire and lousy alt fire. They only good thing the mortars have is decent damage.

It makes sense to have the rockets be weaker but much easier to use and the mortars be more powerful but harder to use.

Nex should be strongest.

It already is. More damage and better range than the mortar, what more do you want?

That would be nice, but I find you can range the Nex quite nicely which will eliminate almost all its AA.

When you're up close though fuggetaboutittttt

Plus with it now being 85 dmg instead of 100 it no longer 1 shots players

AA on or off, Nex is fine right now.

Are the rockets nerfed right now? Because they felt the same to me. It's hard to tell though because I wasn't host and it's difficult to know when my shots are actually hitting with lag and whatnot.

Yea they are nerfed. It must be in either an online private match or through matchmaking. Bot matches won't work as this is a serverside update.

6 body shots to kill on a player fully stacked.

3 body shots on a player with 100% health.

2 headshots on a player with 100% health.

Looks like a headshot does double damage with the RL.

I'm in matckmaking though. idk, RL just doesn't feel weaker. maybe it's just the nature of the weapon though,

i actually have to try to get kills with the rocket launcher now. great work keep it up although two direct hits with a ROCKET should be a kill rocket damage should be put at 50 and lower the splash damage

I really like the rocket's role now. They aren't OP anymore. They're still effective at killing players who are running away and they serve as a very good support weapon where you can keep your distance from the fight and still help out. But they no longer allow you to jump into a room full of enemies and destroy everyone. I'll still be using them of course, but I'm going to need to become more proficient at other weapons now.

Great work.

Hopefully the optimizations will make controlling and detonating the RL consistent. When you're on a bad host the rockets kinda suck lol. It's quite aggravating to know that you'd be hitting your shots if it weren't for the lag.
